ICM poll puts Caroline Lucas on course to win as Green MP

Filed under: green party — Derek Wall @ 11:50 am

Just seen the polling details. An ICM survey in the Brighton Pavilion constituency shows, the Green Party ahead with the Tories second and Labour third. Clearly we can elect the first Green Party MP and one with a pretty stunning record on issues as diverse as trade union rights, climate change and Gaza.

However elections are won on the ground, I have been down to Brighton to door knock, please join me.

  1. FANTASTIC !

Hopefully this will be the start of dismantling the corrupt two party state that we all have had to suffer for so long.

    Great news!

Does this mean that Socialist Unity has finally spotted that Labour are even more sleazy and corrupt than any previous Tory administration, including the hated Thatcher?

  6. I’d be happy to come down from Ramsgate to do some campaigning in the run up to election. Could you keep us posted of any actions that we could be involved in Derek? Cheers.

If the Greens can break the two party strong hold in Brighton and Respect do the same in London it may help other voters make more progressive choices in the future.

  10. Caroline would do well to make more of an impact in Southwark

    where shes a Green councillors

local Camberwell people say shes missing in action ?? and missing vital council meetings

Caroline should either stand down so she can devote time to brighton or state shes going to stand down

Such are the dangers of fighting a seat miles away from your home

  11. Significant, as it was a poll of over 500 voters in this seat

  12. Sean you are mistaken - Caroline Lucas has nothing to do with Camberwell or Southwark - she is MEP for the South East of England (http://www.carolinelucasmep.org.uk/)

I think you are thinking of Jenny Jones - Greater London Authority member for the Greens and Southwark Councillor - (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenny_Jones_(Green_politician))
