VIGIL FOR CHILD M
The Child M campaign will be holding a candlelight vigil sometime after 4:00 pm on Friday 27th November, outside the Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester, with his friends, neighbours and teachers to show support and to demand that he is released immediately. (There is a press conference at 4:00, and the vigil will be afterwards)
Child M, aged 9 years old, from Gorton, Manchester, is currently being held in Yarls Wood Detention Centre with his mother and older brother. Frantic efforts from his supporters, his MP Gerald Kaufman, and his legal representatives prevented his planned removal to Iran last Friday evening.
He is being held in prison-like conditions.
His mother sent a message to her friends saying ‘ Mershad (Child M) is ill from dinner to now. He is vomiting all the time and has stomach ache. The officer said it doesn’t matter, he’ll go to the doctor tomorrow. From 4am he vomited just blood. I know at the moment everyone is asleep but i want you to know that its not safe in here for children. Please pray for Mershad in the morning’.
Attempts are being made to get someone into Yarls Wood to make sure that Mershad gets the care and treatment he needs. He should be released and allowed to go to hospital to see a doctor.

#2 Good stuff and excellent video. It’s an absolute disgrace how this child and so many like him are being treated.
